Overview

Acne and post-acne scarring are approached as two connected phases. Active skin is calmed first, with barrier support and gentle professional care, because resurfacing over inflamed skin can make things worse.

Once the skin has settled, textural scarring is addressed in stages that may combine peels, microneedling and regenerative support. Progress is photographed and reviewed. Sarah has completed Face Academy's Acne Treatments course; suitability and expected results vary between individuals; a consultation always comes first.

Who it may suit

  • Congested, breakout-prone skin
  • Post-inflammatory marks and uneven tone
  • Pitted, rolling or shallow textural scars on settled skin

Considerations

  • Very active or cystic acne may need medical input before aesthetic treatment
  • Resurfacing steps wait until active lesions have calmed
  • Consistency with home care is part of the plan

What to expect

  1. 01

An initial consultation and assessment with photographs

  2. 02

A phased plan: calm, clear, then refine texture

  3. 03

Sessions of 45–75 minutes depending on the step

  4. 04

A home routine kept deliberately simple

Preparation

  • Bring a list of the products and medication you currently use
  • Avoid picking or squeezing in the days before a session
  • Avoid sun exposure and self-tan
  • Follow the written guidance for the specific step performed
  • Gentle cleansing, hydration and daily sun protection
  • Contact Sarah rather than adding new products on your own

Timeline

Calming and clearing typically comes first over several weeks; textural refinement is assessed over months, as collagen remodels slowly.
