Overview

Despite the name, hair botox contains no botulinum toxin and is not injected. It is a deep conditioning mask, rich in proteins and emollients, that fills and coats the hair shaft so the cuticle lies flat. The name refers only to the smoothing effect.

It is a conditioning treatment rather than a chemical straightener: it softens frizz and restores shine without changing the internal bonds that give hair its shape. The effect is temporary and fades with washing, which is why aftercare shampoo matters. Suitability and expected results vary between individuals; a consultation always comes first.

  • Expect the effect to fade gradually over washes rather than stop suddenly
